2024 Kenworth Chillicothe Truck Parade

as a master service tech for Kenworth. 27yrs exp between kw and peterbilt. i can say this. 1st the new paccar engine is a complete piece of junk! the mx10 and the 1st gen mx13 were the best paccar engines. 2nd. the new line of t680 and 880 make freightliners look easy to work on. tupperware trucks. 3rd. the new paccar/eaton endurant transmission is a huge failure. i have not seen 1 single transmission make it past 450k without major failure. the trucking industry is going straight to pot with these new trucks. i am so glad i retire in 1yr. now this monstrosity is coming out??????????????????? 200k for linehaul truck just to stay in the shop for 120 days out of the year

2:59 i mean thats cool and all but that makes it more prone to failure one big issue with vehicles today is that there is too much unnecessary features and tech in them that can easily be prone to failure in the next 5-10 years

@@jackmeoffer9334 yeah well it seems that they are focusing on adding unnecessary technology and features and being “hIgH tEcHnIcAl” and “fUtuRiStIc” rather than actually making the trucks reliable (you can also say the same about the car industry in North America)

Not enough ground clearance for the potholes and different yards here in USA. Waste of time and money Kenworth.
No leg room in the 880 daycab
I drive the T680 daycab with 109k miles currently and the horn goes off at random while stopped, windows stop working occasionally and the A/C stops working occasionally too. The Volvo VNR I drive at the same company (softer ride and easier to turn steering wheel) doesn't have those issues.
I remember they had Volvos too, but they got rid of them as they apparently kept breaking down.
I cannot stand that digital dash.... you should have stuck to the old T680 design.

No way would i even drive such a vehicle.
YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THREE ECM FUSES AND THE ECM COMPUTER TO EVEN GET TO THE DAMN THING. KENWORTH PRETTY MUCH DOES THEIR BEST TO MAKE YOU PAY $1500 TO CHANGE A PREVENTATIVE FILTER.
After a centennial of style and grace, there’s still no other truck builder quite like Kenworth. No other in the world.

I’m a mechanic at big g. These trucks are some of the easiest I’ve had to service
Why aren't there newer designs out there. All I see is similar tractors, really nothing advanced from decades prior. This is a nice concept, but why isn't there a happy medium between current line and this? And same goes for passenger vehicles, it's pretty much the same
I've been driving for 36 years and mostly KW . No one has asked me what a truck should be like .. lol
I went from a 2020 W900L to a 2019 W990 to a 2025 T680 next gen. T680 is my choice !

Creative means big changes, and people are afraid of change, but technology is moving forward like lightning. And new means progression. Time to let go of the old like everything else, ships are running on nuclear energy, negative energy has been achieved, and transportation can't be left behind. While people judge the change of looks, they dont realize the functionality of the product. Everything is done for a reason at the time its designed. Tech moves forward, and so does the design to make it functional and progressive. If you dont believe this, pay attention how a long nose blows your vehicle away from it as it passes by yours. And mpg is at 30% more efficient just with the newer designs from the 2000s compared to the long noses.

It looks awesome but my questions are, how accessible are the wheels outside of workshop, and mainly how much can this drive on anything else but an asphalt, I'm from Europe so this is huge, I know in the US, there is a lot of space, huge roads and concrete/asphalt everywhere but sometimes you do need to climb on curb, get of the road onto grass and so on, also snow would be a huge question
